Gabion Works produce and supply gabion baskets throughout Canterbury. Our unique system eliminates sharp edges, will not slump, and allows for precise architectural construction. The gabions are constructed using heavy gauge steel, with all-welded mesh. This, along with our unique helical edge-jointing and internal partitioning, makes for a solid product with superior finish and seismic strength.

Technical Specifications

• 4mm New Zealand made heavy galvanised 75mm square mesh.
• Heavy gauge tightly coiled, galvanised helical or spirals.
• Our unique partition system prevents slumping.
• 2:1 stability as a general guideline. Fences can be narrow but require posts inside the baskets.
• 7 degrees of slope improves stability of retaining walls.
• Retaining walls up to 1.5 metres can be built but with no consent (check with your local council).
• A retaining wall toe prevents the gabion wall moving forward.
